Middle School Essential Knowledge
Welcome to our middle school essential knowledge page!!
My intent for this page is informational. I hope to give the parents and students a different view on educational matters. I will be posting my weekly lesson plans along with a few other things of interest to both parents and students.
I have a question for you. Have you ever read the book, Who moved my Cheese? Well I have had not only my cheese moved but the barn the goat was in has been moved as well! The old saying that variety is the spice of life. My life is very spicey this year! LOL! I am now teaching literacy in the 6th grade. I could not be more excited about it. –I know I am suppose to underline book titles but I haven’t yet figured out how to do this on this page. Sorry for those of you who need me to do this. I will be working on this blog throughout the week to update links and let parents and students know about this resource.
I am excited to begin my journey anew with the sixth grade team. For those of you who do not know me, I have compiled a little information to let you in.
Good day to you all,
My name is Teresa Evans, and let me begin by saying that I am totally excited about being at Cabot Middle School South (CMSS). The staff and faculty have opened their arms and hearts and have accepted me into the family here. The school I previously taught at was small compared to Cabot, so you will understand what a massive change this has been for me.
My literacy journey began eleven years ago in a small town south of Batesville Arkansas. Teaching has been a passion of mine since I began College at Harding University, where I received my Bachelor’s degree. I then continued my education and received my Masters degree in Reading.
My husband, Greg, of twenty-four years supports my adventure in reading and teaching. Three children, two dogs, and several head of cattle have rounded my education tremendously! We currently live in Pleasant Plains Arkansas, on a farm that we love. Although it is a long drive everyday to Cabot, I believe it is worth the sacrifice for the atmosphere and the students here at CMSS.
Being on the 6-1 team has been a great experience. I have enjoyed meeting and working with your child at CMSS and look forward to continued success in literacy. The first few weeks will be somewhat of an adjustment for all of the team. We will settle down though, and began the joy that is literacy.
If you need to contact me the best way is through my email, Teresa.Evans@cps.k12.ar.us you can also check out my blog at teresaevans.edublogs.org I will have to double check that address but I believe that will get you there. I have a school notes page as well; just follow the link on the blog.
Thank you so much,
Mrs. Teresa Evans
