Monday~

Advisory~ We will be working on recognizing good character traits this week. Monday we will complete the “How are you smart” graph.

Reading~ DRA, Direct Reading Assessment will be the goal for this week. We will still be emphasising fluency this week and we will be moving into our small grouping strategies. The students have been working on Reader’s Theatre and have done a great job with them. The students really need to be reading at home for 30 minutes per night. Research directly ties this into success in the “real” world.

Writing~ Our writing process is really coming along. The Students will be working with their journals and will be starting to use their seed ideas to come up with a descriptive story to write.

Tuesday~

Advisory~A Continuation of Monday’s work with the students choosing which traits make for a good leader.

Reading~ Continue the DRA and have the students focus on Authors Purpose during our floor time.

Writing~ In writing we will brainstorm ideas using our journals and may go outside to record our observations.

Wednesday~

Advisory~A Continuation of  Tuesday’s work with the students choosing which traits they have that would make for a good leader.

Reading~ Continue the DRA and have the students focus on Description during our floor time.

Writing~ In writing we will brainstorm ideas using our journals and may go outside to record our observations.

Thursday~

Advisory~A Continuation of Wednesday’s work with the students choosing who would make a good leader.

Reading~ Continue the DRA and have the students focus on Authors Purpose during our floor time.

Writing~ In writing we will brainstorm ideas using our journals and may go outside to record our observations. We will compare our finding throughout the week and write about them.

Friday~ Catch up on the activities that we missed out on previously. We will have “FREE READ FRIDAY” during our reading class.
