We will be working on our Reading Benchmark Practice all week until the Benchmark testing. The practice will help them prepare for the actual test. Common Assessments will continue as per the calendar. We are working very hard on Responsibility, so the students will be expected to turn the work in on time. The consequence for that will be half credit. Most all of our work will be done in class so if they are not turning it in, then they are not following class expectation.

Weekly Objectives:  Students will read a variety of literature including historical and realistic fiction.

 

Essential Question: What is the characteristics of historical fiction? Is the sequencing of events important to a text? How does reading historical fiction help the comprehension of history?

Enduring Understanding: Authors us fictional characters and historical settings/events to convey the significance of a time period.

                In Reading we will be working on Open Response Review

                                The students will be going over all of the Open Responses. They will find the way to make the paper a “4” and work on peer editing.

                In Writing we will be journaling and working on Writing Prompts.
